The sequel to The Stump Fairies
of Miller Hill might go something like this!
Winter comes and goes at Miller Hill, and the
spring brings with it the opportunity for the stump fairies to attend the
Gathering of Clans. Most of the adult stump fairies and
some of the older fairykids will be allowed to take the long and exhausting
journey, though the families laying eggs this season will stay behind.
The Gathering provides much celebration and
education for all of the clans that attend. This meeting of clans from many
different habitats will be a great time of communication:
They will learn of
species in other ecosystems, they will learn of other cultures, they will meet
many fairies from other clans, and there will be documentation of births and
deaths. Fairies living in visitor habitats will see their native clan members,
and many messages will be passed back and forth to take home.
Many dangers lie in the path to the Gathering,
and not all of the clans are as friendly as the Miller Hill stump fairies. Will
they make it to the Gathering? What obstacles will they have to overcome? Will they make it home?
What adventures will occur back at Miller Hill and will things at the stump
be the same when they return?
