"The Stump Fairies of Miller Hill" by first time author Kelly Michal is an engaging flight of fancy down nature filled airway. Nighthawks and fairies fly through the story with appealing charm. The story is described with a stretching vocabulary against a backdrop of natural science facts. Entertaining, educating and fun!

This book is beautiful. You have captured the lovely fairylike qualities while giving each character human personality. Children will love the descriptive passages that carry them from adventure to adventure with the stump fairies. You are going to have many children searching for these lovely little beings while developing new knowledge and appreciation for the environment. I have read parts of it to third and fourth grade students and they wanted more, just as I did.
